Magliano in Toscana, een oud stadje, helemaal omsloten door zijn indrukwekkende versterkte wallen met enkele mooie poorten.
Binnen de stadsmuren, heeft ook dit dorp zijn middeleeuwse uiterlijk bewaard. Aan de Piazza della Repubblica verheft zich de S. Giovanni Battisto. een romaanse kerk die later gotische toevoegingen en een renaissance-façade heeft gekregen. Binnen een 15e-eeuwse doopvont. Vlakbij staat het in de 15e eeuw in Sienees-gotische stijl gebouwde Palazzo dei Priori. Verder is er de romaans-gotische S. Martino, een kerk van vóór 1000 die haar huidige vorm kreeg in de 14e/15e eeuw.

Rectory San Bruzio
The ruins of this beautiful rectory are situated about 2 km East of Magliano in Toscana. To reach San Bruzio we must follow the following road: from Magliano first we take the road that geos towards Orbetello, and a few hundreds meters after we must turn on the left at the crossroad taking the road that goes to Marsiliana, after little more than a kilometer on the left are visible in a field the remains of the Romanesque-Lombardic church of San Bruzio (San Tiburzio).

In the Middle Ages was built a little built up area of houses in the today's town's area. The Aldobrandeschi family was built around the year one thousand a Fortress of defence and take the control of it. In XIV century the Aldobrandeschi had ceded slowly at the Siena's Republic the town's control until the final departure is back to XVI century.
During this mixed period was erected the new wall and the cylindrical towers, for protect the city in replacement of the Fortress.
In the south of the town was preserved the fortification's part that was built in XIII century, that make up by four towers with the typical battlements of the early Middle Ages.
At the end of the XVI century Magliano became a Medici family's fief, that take the control of it with the vassals. With the disappearance of the Medici from the Italian - Tuscan political outline in XVIII century, was the Lorena family to reign in the city, working numerous drainages on the marshland below, favouring the agricultural development contributing to move away the malaria from the zone.
